I’ve always loved reading to my children and it has always been important to me that I instill in them a love of reading. Recently I started reading the Junie B. Jones books to my six-year-old. We enjoyed reading one together, taking turns reading, but this morning I came into the living room to find her reading one herself. My husband said she stayed up late reading in bed. We had to tear her away from the book for some family time this morning and later I heard her giggling as she read. When I told her to go get changed for summer camp she walked down the hallway with her nose in her book.

I almost shed tears of joy. The magic has begun! May it always last.

    Hurray! How wonderful 🙂

  1. Sweet story, Liesl. My three-year-old is good at memorizing, so he’ll “read” us some of his favorite books sometimes. It never ceases to make me smile.

  2. Absolutely beautiful.
