Free 15-minute Virtual Q&A

Free 15-Minute Q&A

Each month I set aside a limited amount of time for short Virtual Q&As. These are designed for groups who have read one or more of my books. It’s a really great way to connect with the author and ask questions about the writing process and the book you’ve just read. I schedule these on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Note: Because I get so many requests for Q&As, I only offer one free session per school per year. This allows me to offer this opportunity to more students. Additional sessions may be scheduled as paid visits. If you have multiple classrooms reading my book, you may combine for the Q&A, as you would for an assembly. I have done Q&As with 300+ students in gyms or auditoriums. As long as your tech is set up well, it works just fine.

Tips for a great Q&A:

  • Read the FAQs posted on Liesl's website

  • Brainstorm lots of questions you'd like to ask Liesl and pick 10-15 of your favorites. (10 is pretty average, but we may be able to get through more.)

  • Test your tech. Unfortunately, Liesl is unable to offer a tech test beforehand. We recommend you do a test run with someone outside of your school at the same time of day you'll be doing the Q&A with Liesl.

  • Some schools block certain platforms. Be sure to choose a platform that is approved by your school. Liesl is flexible and can generally use any platform that works for you.

  • Make sure Liesl has the necessary links, ID, passwords, etc. in order for her to join the call.

  • Providing a cell number where Liesl can reach you in case problems arise is a really good idea!

  • We understand things sometimes come up, and you may be unable to make our call. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have to cancel so we can offer the session to another group.
