Literary agent Nathan Bransford is holding a contest inpsired by the THE SECRET YEAR by Jennifer Hubbard. Write a 500 word diary entry of a teen. Details and rules on Nathan’s blog.

Literary Agent Mary Kole is holding a contest for novel beginnings, up to 500 words. Details on Mary’s blog.


  1. Hi, Liesl! I was reading through Editorial Anonymous’s publishing myths contest (because I noticed, belatedly, all the Mormon talk) and picked up on your comment. Then I wandered over here and noticed that you’re a BYU grad (I am, too). And THEN I noticed that you’re planning to attend BYU’s YA writing workshop this June (which I would love, love, LOVE to be at) and decided I just had to leave a comment.
